Oh Mama

You’re the brightest among the stars

The fragrance in the rose

You’re the diamond among the pebbles

The language in a prose

Amongst all problems piled

Bundles of work and tiring toil

But still, for us you smiled

With all grace and charm

It’s  your birthday

And I, surely will tell you

Only the luckiest of the lucky

Will get a mother like you

I remember those times when you taught me to walk

I was scared, at times tense, but the warmth of your hand made sense,

I remember those times when you taught me to talk

you gave me the confidence to walk the talk,

The first day of school, where I hesitated to go then

Your advise to me, made learning real fun

You were there for me all the time

And  for us, you  have worked to earn

You corrected my mistakes,

And supported my steps

So today  and always, I’ll say

I love you, Papa!
